why is there so much hatred towards rednecks in our society?
I would just like to know why it’s considered “bad” to like someone who might be seen as a redneck. I happen to be attracted to guys that hunt, fish, drive pick up trucks and work blue collar jobs. Just because someone lives on a rural farm or in a trailer park doesn’t mean that they have sex with family members or farm animals. It also doesn’t mean that they are missing half of their teeth or that they drink moonshine or whatever. I’ve met a LOT of really hott “good ol’ boys”. Society seems to look down on these people though. My city friends try to make me feel bad about liking rednecks and it really bothers me. I’m just not attracted to city guys for some reason. I’m also not attracted to rich guys and I don’t know why. Am I weird for feeling this way? My family wants me to find someone who is wealthy but that doesn’t matter to me. Am I being stupid?

How can anyone say you are bad for liking what you like. There is someone for everyone. You do not want to put on airs and there isnt a thing wrong with that. As long as your redneck isnt a racist then good for you. Be happy.

you’re not weird or anything- you’re just attracted to rugged guys. it’s nothing bad whatsoever. I have no problems with “rednecks”, so long as they’re cool with me. So…just do what you wanna do and be with whoever you wanna be with:-)
I was not aware that some group of people changed the meaning of the word ‘redneck’. If I understand correctly, being a ‘redneck’ isn’t a bad thing now?

Yes you are being stupid. The term redneck generally refers to an uneducated racists white person who has little wealth and little education to attain wealth. Someone who is uncouth in both manners and cleanliness, poor white trash or trailer park trash.
Now if you want to spend the rest of your life with that kind of person, then you are free to do what you wish but don’t blame your parents for wanting better for you!
The term red neck came from people who work outside their neck would get sun burnt from working outside , hence the term RED NECK ,
Every one would die of starvation if it was not for the red neck population. Some one has to grow and ship and process the food you eat and build the buildings the rich people live in .
Us red necks look at big city folk as pretty useless. Living in the city what a boring life.
PS there are many rich red necks, owning contruction firms ,trucking firms, large farms and counrty resorts .
Well, a “redneck” by defintion an ignorant, poor and often biggoted member of rural america. Theyre proud of it though I am proud NOT to be any of those things. They also often like to pretend theyre tougher than they really are.
