Why Do Religious People Have This Compulsion To Call Their Kids Stupid Names?

I can: Track, Trig, Bristol and Piper.

I didn’t realize this was a problem of such epidemic proportions…
I’m a Catholic. I named my boys James Patrick and Dylan Thomas…have I gone over the line? Are there expensive automobiles by that nomenclature now? I wasn’t aware aware…I therefore plead ignorance, and ask for forgiveness…

When you ask a question like this you could at least have the courtesy to tell us what names you have in mind. Also, what one considers stupid another person thinks is just right. So, come on, give us few examples of stupid names i.y.o.

I feel sorry for those kids with funny names because the parents usually give them a bible for Christmas – nothing else, just a bible.

Well when I have my first kid in about 6 months I’m going to name him/her after a companion of Muhammad pbuh. I’m naming him/her that because I love my religion. If that’s stupid to you, oh well.

You know in in Britain “Bristols” is cockney rhyming slang for “titties”. Bristol City’s = titties. One might say “nice pair of bristols”. I nearly pissed myself when I heard that’s what her daughter was called.

Whether a name is ”stupid” depends on perspective.

Don’t be rude! How many of those crazy Hollywoodonians name their kids even crazier names? Moon Unit wasn’t the product of religion you nutter and I would love to know what your mother named you if this website is the best thing you have ever created you should wish for a religious name and a life while you’re at it!
