Why Can’t We Call Blacks, Mexicans, Asians Or Gay People Derogatory Names But, Calling A Southerner A Redneck?
Is perfectly OK to liberals? Or, if a definition for redneck is listed for an answer could some people fall under the derogatory names for minorities based on some definition?

I have never figured out how so many people can see these simple truths of what is real and what is not and then turn around and vote for an Idiot like Obama.
I don’t use derogatory terms to describe people. But almost all of these terms are used within the groups to refer to each other. Including the term “redneck”. It’s a dodgey issue, because people in general don’t like it when others call them derogatory names, but believe at the same time call themselves and others like them the same thing.
I think of it this way: I don’t want to be known by what I am, but who I am, rather. I identify as Jess. So I prefer (and let others know I prefer) being called Jess, and call other people what they want to be called.
I don’t think calling someone a redneck is a good idea, they might get angry just as any targeted group would by being called any kind of “slur”. I don’t know that southerner =’s redneck, either.
Are you feeling defensive? Personally, I don’t like to be called anything, either; nor do I like calling others by negative group associations. I’d rather call out their actions I don’t agree with and try to have a civil discussion. Maybe you end up agreeing to disagree, but at least no one gets so emotional you end up yelling at each other or getting violent.
It’s not just redneck. Some of the names used by liberals toward people from the South are significantly more derogatory than redneck. Typical of their hypocrisy.
You should also note that stereotypical commentary toward the races you named are considered racist as is anything that can be interpreted as having a negative connotation.
You should never, never call anyone “redneck”, it is very degrading.
Now, purple neck would be O.K., and green neck is always appropriate in polite society.—However, rubber neck is often used with no one’s feelings being hurt.
I think it’s time now to stop being so sensitive about that particular body part,—-but let’s not start calling each other teeny weenie.—O.K.?—-I mean O.K. ? ? ?
