Cowboys actually do something constructive, like rodeos or something. rednecks just drink and shoot things.
Don’t know, but they are both gay
They’ll NEVER make a movie like Brokeback Mountain about rednecks.
I don’t know, but I once dated a cowboy-redneck.
The difference is semantics.
cowboys drive suv’s with cowboy hats and live on ranches. rednecks drive pick-up trucks and live in trailers. Texas – cowboy. North Carolina – redneck. Both watch Nascar. Cowboys drink jack daniels, rednecks drinks pabst blue ribbon
I’m not quite sure myself and even though I’m a Yankee, I am a sucker for them both. I think it’s their drawl… LOL
Yee-haw to Southern Comfort
cowboy is generally a term used to describe any person who works with ranch animals or someone who dresses like what many perceives as someone who should be working on a ranch, rednecks are a class of people with any number of low qualities in their nature.
Cowboys are guys that work the farm, ride horses and/or bulls, etc. Rednecks are prejudice jerks who think they are better than every one who is different from them in any way.
A cowboy (Spanish vaquero) tends cattle and horses on cattle ranches in North and South America. The cowboy is normally a ranch hand in charge of the horses and/or cattle, as is the wrangler. In addition to ranch work, some cowboys work in and participate in rodeos, and many cowboys work only in the rodeo.
In modern usage, the term redneck predominantly refers to a particular stereotype of individuals living in Appalachia, the Southern United States, the Ozarks, and later the Rocky Mountain States. The word can be used either as a pejorative or as a matter of pride, depending on context.
Usage of the term “Redneck” generally differs from Hick and Hillbilly, because Rednecks reject or resist assimilation into the dominant culture, while Hicks and Hillbillies theoretically are isolated from the dominant culture. In this way, the term Redneck is similar to the word Cracker.
cowboys can have manners and uses them–a redneck was never tought manners and refuses to learn them — cowboys rule rednecks drool
cowboys have one wife and a real home. rednecks marry people from their family and living in “moble” homes that are attached to their truck.
cowboys don’t get to watch nascar if they’re busy ropin’ dogies.
Cowboys can be a different race than just white.
And Cowboys have horses!
Cowboy = Chuck Norris
Redneck = Lucky from “King of the Hill”
Goth girl shut the he’ll up I don’t see hicks or rednecks cuttin themselves for pleasure so don’t say shit and the difference is hicks are nice and hard workers and rednecks work on a farm this is very simple and there’s no such thing as a hillbilly
i lived in california for alot of my life on my grandads ranch cowboys tend to be more laid back harder working and look a little diffrent i live in florida now and dont get me wrong there are some hard working southern boys there is cows and rodeo here too these are not the true western cowboys i call them cracker cowboys they still work hard and love what they do the only reason they get a bad name is the ones that sit around drink beer shoot stuff and be racist
