What Is Your Opinion On Rednecks?

First, people who talk down about people who live the “redneck” lifestyle are ignorant and just plain stupid. Most “rednecks” are good old boys just living life the only way they know how… and to the fullest. “Rednecks” are not racists or bigots, they just drink beer, and watch NASCAR and fly the battle flag and party hard… Sure there are a few knuckleheads who give a respectable redneck a bad name, but hey, it is that way with every group of people out there…
Besides, I’m a redneck, and damn proud of it… I have my pickup truck and my rebel flag, and by the light of Jesus, I’m proud of it!

Having lived around them my whole life, I’ve gotten kind of use to it, but the racists still annoy me deeply. I personally have no problem with the jeans in boots. (When I wear my boots, I do this as well, but that’s because they’re usually skinnies. lol If boot cut, well of course over the cowboy boots) But pretty much, I think the term redneck is an equivalent to ignorant, and that bothers me somewhat. :/ But if you mean just some ordinary guy out in the country, I’m cool with that.

They are caricatures of a really dumb stereotype. I don’t mind that people are “country”… that is: they hunt, fish, have accents, and were brought up with manners and eating good old fashioned southern food. I grew up a country girl. I also don’t mind getting dirty on a four wheeler once in a while. But I find it ignorant when these people try to be something like a stereotype…. They burp in public, worship Dale Jr, drink budweiser and budweiser only, drive a chevy pick up with big mud tires because every other redneck drives one, they chew tobacco and don’t think twice about spitting in front of you, they are loud and rude, they hate yankees just for the hell of it, vow they will never go anywhere but the south, won’t try anything new, and they are just plain white trash. These people I LOATHE.

Rednecks are cool considering most of my friends are rednecks. We hunt fish go swimming in the lake shoot guns unnecessarily, light almost everything on fire and drink beer and give the dog some. Good times
Oh, and we destroy lots of stuff like breaking things

If there is anyone in America that has the balls to stand up for what they believe in it would be a redneck.
If they finally have enough of how this country is going down hill they will be the ones who will stand up and put a stop to it.

I find they are overly stereotyped and are generally fairly normal people besides the accent. And a fair number of the rednecks I know are quite intelligent

As long as a redneck does not harm anyone else, it is their right to live their life in any way that makes them happy. You gotta be yourself!
