What is the difference between a redneck and a cowboy?
I’m not sure but I think its that cowboys are rich, republican, and live in the West part of the country, not really the south. Rednecks are hard working southerners, democrats, and middle class, the common folk. Is this right?

Cowboys are usually found on Broke-back mountain riding their parters bareback.
The redneck is more likely to sleep with it’s cousin and the Cowboy with it’s horse?
Naw, they are both the same.
cowboys ride horses
rednecks ride rusty trucks
Cowboy is an occupation, redneck is an attitude.
all the above!!!
Real cowboys are rednecks.
Where I’m from a redneck is a negative connotation towards white people, and it also identifies white people who literally have a red neck. The negative connotation says that you are the lowest form of ignorant.
As for cowboy it references a bad boy, someone who is a rebel.
Redneck = N*gr
Cowboy = Thug
Amazing how these words have different meanings in different communities.
A cowboy usually either owns horses, rides horses, rides bulls or broncs, works on a ranch, or is a horse farrier. Cowboys often wear jeans, cowboy boots, a belt buckle, cowboy hats, and western shirts. They sometimes wear chaps, spurs, vests, and bandannas. Basically, it is a person who sepnds a lot of time around horses and/or makes their living working with horses.
A redneck is someone who works a blue collar job – such as mechanics or farming. They enjoy beer, big loud trucks, truck tires, and are incredibly proud of their way of life. They tend to have an attitude that “I am who I am and the world can shove it if they don’t like it.” They often wear jeans, a baseball cap, dirty work boots, t-shirts or flannel shirts, and sometimes cowboy hats and belt buckles (because, for some reason, the feel they are cowboys).
There are people who claim to be a redneck, because modern culture (blue collar comedy tour, etc) has set it up as something that is cool to be if you live in the country.
There are also people who pretend to be cowboys. These people can often be found at country bars at night where people line dance. They stand on the side of the dance floor, wearing shiny belt buckles, clean cowboy hats, and fancy cowboy boots. They feel cool when they dress like this and think it helps them pick up girls. There are two ways to identify this type of cowboy poser. 1) Ask him where he works (if it’s not with horses, he’s probably not a real cowboy. 2) Look at his hands. Cowboys hands are rough and often dirty under the nails.
