What do people have against hicks and rednecks?

hick = gay person

nothings wrong with rednecks but people see them as reckless.

hey, I’m a redneck to(but a classy one). Ppl just put us down because our mannerisms are different.

Some people think rednecks typically have just one way of doing things and they’re not typically open minded about the way other people live. Nascar and wrestling are pretty boring, too. I guess people relate hicks and rednecks with Nascar, wresting, beer-guzzlers with pot-bellies and beat their wives and don’t care for their kids. Country music always on, life in a trailer, truck and a few cars on the lawn. Single-shot rifle and a one-eyed dog. Everyone’s a god-fearing, bible beating gay-bashing republican.

I know some hicks who are NOT like that, but I was just trying to answer the question. NOT TO OFFEND, but I know what some people have against hicks.

well i am a redneck too and proud of it.some people think we are all stupid,backwards,inbred hicks who are too dumb to come in out of the rain it is a kind of stereotype not much you can do about it .there is nothing wrong with us we are no different than people anywhere else we have our good our bad our really bright and really stupid like people everywhere.people often try to judge what they dont understand.good luck.

they just don’t understand you guys, my husband is absolutely gorgeous and wonderful, i’m from NY and I met him in hickory NC, he is hardworking, honest and genuine, a quality rare in men, i call him my little redneck, you should be proud of who you are, i like southern guys because their not prissy like many men these days

I am not sure that you understand the general perception of what a “redneck” is.

It is not about going through life in a rush. That is called “layed back”.

some people are just bigots… i get made fun of for being from Tx and having Hick as a name, people just need to be educated and stop trying to be superior to others with name calling.

Not everybody’s lucky enough to be one of us! Southerners are the best, you know!

I’m not sure but i heard they were the die hard racist.
