Just wondering. I realized today that duct tape isnt just a redneck accessory anymore. I saw a man in the mall today that had made a rather nice cell phone cover and case entirely from duct tape.

so i know in those small towns if you dress emo OR punk OR goth ECT. you get stared at like crazzy they act like they never seen one before ( lol funny and sad) this is how ( normal) life is in citys…… you dont see nobody staring at the punk rocker guy with orange hair now do you? no because its an open minded city not those small hick towns…….so why do you guys always stare when you see punks and suff? never seen one? well i recomend you get out of your town and see the world. your missing out! plus isent it rude to stare? =P big citys and mad respect to the punk subculture FTW!

I’m from Mississippi, and we’re always made fun of, especially up north. I’ve met some people from up there and they tell me that everyone thinks we’re just a bunch of redneck dumb asses. That isn’t true, and most of them haven’t even been out of their own state, much less to Mississippi. Why do people assume we’re dumb? Doesn’t every state have dumb people in it?

I am a 19 year old male from Oklahoma, USA, and am completely bothered by the ignorant people I must deal with on a daily basis. From the religious bible-thumpers that are so set in their primitive ways, to the filthy redneck that believes in having a truck lifted 5′ off the ground as a commuter vehicle. My question is what annoys you the most about stereotypical USA? Where do you advise I plan to move to?

I was born in a hicktown near Danville, Virginia. I went to UVA through a scholarship and moved to Northern Virginia (the place where only 0.5 % of the population are native Virginians). The second that I try to converse with people there, they treat me as if I am some kind of ignorant fool. They here my accent and automatically decide that I am beneath them. The thing I hate the most is when they say “you don’t like sound like any Virginian that ive ever heard. Duhh! Thats because the only Virginians they know are transplants from Jersey or New York. When they call me Tex I just want to knock their blocks off! To be educated liberal northerners they’re as ignorant as I used to be years ago. Why are they so arrogant but yet so ignorant?
