If so, why? Is that how we’re depicted in pop culture? A friend of mine from Liverpool once told me Americans are thought of as Texans.

I am 17, and am very conservative. I am not a redneck by any means; my family is wealthy and I have a good private education. My grandfather, who influenced me the most, went to Harvard and Cornell, was very wealthy, and was a Republican. In order for the Republican Party to get as powerful as it was several years ago, there need to be strong conservatives standing up, and the Republicans In Name Only should be kicked out of the party for not being conservative enough.
Now, what pisses me off is the liberal potheads and bimbos my age. They still like blaming Bush for everything, and when you ask them why they are against the Iraq War, for example, they are like “Uh, Bush sucks” and can’t give you any other answer why. And then you have the idiots who supported Obama just because he is black, and the sad part is even people old enough to vote voted for him because of that reason. Those people should just put bullets through their head for being so dumb and being detrimental to the intelligence of society.
Jessica: Obama’s approval rating is going down every day and in 2012, when Palin and McCain aren’t running, and the Republicans have real people running, they will absolutely win. Have no doubt about it, it will happen. FYI: I didn’t like either McCain or Palin, but they were better than Obama/Biden, by a long shot.
And you are an idiot for calling him a crippled old redneck. He suffered those injuries while putting his life on the line for this country in Vietnam. You are showing your inner brat and how young you are by making that comment. Don’t comment if you don’t know what the hell you are talking about.
And you are showing your hatred of the American military and America itself for your bashing of an American hero, John McCain. I would have preferred Giuliani or Romney over him, but he was a hell of a lot better than Obama, like I previously said.

I haven’t given anyone a thumbs down.
Even rednecks who don’t necessarily live in rural area seem to preferably drive pickup trucks.

Is there something seriously wrong with the education system in the South? Or is their drinking water some how contaminated with mind altering drugs?
Just what do working class people get out of siding with the party that backs big business, big money, and cares nothing for the rights of the individual?

Is it due to movie depliction? I love the sport and yes it is a sport but I also love football and I am female. I work as a pharmacy tech. Certainly not a “redneck” job. I graduated top of my college class, can speak and spell correctly, have all of my teeth and drink alcohol rarely.
I do get bored with reading comments about only rednecks watching NASCAR. In fact, I skip over any answers or comments that even sound as though it is leading in the redneck direction.
Why do people insist on calling it a redneck sport and saying those who watch it are redneck as well?
