What are some good southern or “redneck” sort of names for girls? Besides the obvious like : Scarlett or Bobby Jean or Arlene. (It’s not for my child, it’s for a book :)

Also, don’t forget those Arlene variants — Darlene, Sharlene, Carleen, Irlene, etc. — for the creative redneck!

I think that there is a huge difference between southern and redneck names….
Some names that seem Southern to me are:
Shelby
Gracelyn
Abby
Savannah
Ella, Ellie
Carolina
Georgia
Adelaide/Adele
Suzannah
Aubrey
Delilah
Dixie
Tallulah
Most of these become very southern if you add a middle name such as…
Ruthie Jean
Ruby Mae
Sara Beth
Ellie Mae
Ally Sue
Lucy Jane
