Need help for a name in a sticky situation?

12

I’m 17 years old. I’ll be 18 in 3 months. However, I’m 7 months pregnant with twins from my boyfriend of 4 years. Please don’t say we’re stupid or whatever, we used a condom but it obviously didn’t work. He has given me a promise ring and has stepped up to the plate tremendously. Now here’s the thing, we come from a small redneck town. Almost everyone is a redneck. I’m white and my family is rednecks but my boyfriend is black. My family has been very accepting of his race but they are adamant about the naming style. They don’t want me to have ‘black/ghetto’ names. Neither do I. l don’t want a Jamel or Kanisha or something like that. My boyfriend is a junior after his dad, Frank. But l don’t want to name my son after him in case we do break up. Now its a boy and girl. What could be good names that are still country-ish but alright for mixed kids? I love the names Levi, Tyler, Elliot for boys and Daisey and Ketti for girls. Any help?

Why not use traditional names like Elizabeth, Samantha, Katherine, Mary, James, John, Matthew, Gregory, etc? Truthfully, not many people are choosing those kinds of names right now and it will be respectful of both cultures.

Any name is fine for mixed kids, I have friends that are black and named Carrie and Jeremy to name a few. Race doesn’t make a name! Tyler and Levi are cute, Daisey is ok. Here are some names that I like.

Levi, Tyler, Elliot, Brandon, Elijah, Isaac, Nicholas, Ryan, Seth, Cameron, Sean, Shane, Oliver, Justin….. Truth be told, most REAL names (ones that you would find in baby name books) will work for both races and not be considered “ghetto” or “hillbillyish”.

Daisy (I love this), Elizabeth, Anna, Monica, Lindsey, Rachel, Amanda, Karen, Hillary, Jenna, Emily, Eva, Ashley….Just choose a very NORMAL name. If you do that, it’ll age well, look right with the child’s race, and the child will appreciate you not being stupid like a lot of the parents today (the ones who name their kids Everleigh and J/K/Br/ayden).

Good luck.
