Muslim kid flipped out: what should I have done?
There is a new Muslim senior in our high school, and he is taking a biotechnology summer class with me. Every since he came to school, some rednecks were being jerks and were calling him abusive name, such as terrorist, etc., and I thought he could take it. But then, today Matt, football team’s captain, pushed him in the hallway; and then he pushed Matt back. Then a fight started and the kid knocked Matt out. Surprisingly, no one took the Muslim’s side, and he is suspended from summer school. I feel bad because I know that he did not start it, but I don’t know what to do. Should I speak out for him or what?

Do the right thing and speak out for him, or at least speak to him.
Yes, I think that would be the right thing for you to do, especially if your friend did not start the incident.
Speak out for him. I know it sounds scary, but you have to. Those jerks are racist, and it sounds like a lot of people are at your school. He obviously isn’t a terrorist, but those kids might turn him into one.
Sometimes the people who say nothing are the worst bullies of all.
Keep that in mind…
His religion shouldn’t come into it.
Do the right thing as a HUMAN and report it.
Stand up for a fellow member of your species and show that man as a collective thing is capable of doing something good every now and then.
If you saw what happened, it is right for you to go to speak to someone in authority about what has been happening.
Tell them that this young man has been teased, calling him abusive names, then he was pushed and he pushed back, then the fight started.
It is unfair that he has been suspended when he was the victim.
Do what is right.
he chose to be muslim now he must live with the consequences of being a terrorist.
Of corse;)
Tell what happened. There are extremists in every religion, and it is wrong to pick on someone for following a certain belief system. He didn’t do anything wrong himself. You should have said something when the bullying started, but since it’s too late for that now, at least you can still try to help him by telling someone what really happened. Please stand up for him.
u should talk to him and become his friend
