Is there racism/rednecks in North Carolina?
Okay, well I might move to North Carolina. I’m Indian, and I heard that there is a lot of rednecks in North Carolina. That doesn’t make me exactly excited to move there. So is it really that bad? And if there are rednecks, what do they discriminate against?
I have nothing against rednecks, I just haven’t been near anyone who is and I heard that they’re racist. If they were as “nice” as some people mentioned, then I wouldn’t care. I’m also not stereotyping North Carolina, I just want to know.

Racism is everywhere. Why pick on NC. Possibly less than in NYC or any major city.
In Cherokee County the Indians have gained control of the local government. The Cherokee language (as well as English) is required in all public schools in the county.
you got to be kidding!!?? you are judging an entire state based upon stereotypes? do you also think all blondes are dumb? all blacks are criminals? hey i’ve got one for you… since you’re Indian, you must be an alcoholic and run a casino! see the idiocy of your question??
Ignore airhead becky, There are rednecks in the south but much less than there were before. They wont bother you and if they do who cares their not that bright anyway
What do you have against Rednecks?
rednecks think men should be men and women should be women.
Rednecks think the constitution should be protected.
rednecks think you should work for what you want and not expect the government to give it to you.
Redneck think that family values are a good thing and should be respected and preserved.
If 6 Taliban members where coming after you, who would You want backing you up, 5 barack obamas? Or five good old boy Rednecks?
Maybe you should be more concerned with your own racism and preconceived ideas first.
Remember you’re in the U.S. Act like a citizen and you’ll be fine most anywhere in the U.S.
“Remember you’re in the U.S. Act like a citizen and you’ll be fine???”"” If he is Indian, he IS more of a U.S. Citizen than you or I am. Also in regards to “Growl”, I believe he is referring to Cherokee, NC and NOT Cherokee County, NC. Cherokee, NC does require the learning of the Cherokee language and it is a beautifully spoken language. There are some close-minded rednecks who think their race is better, but they are dying away….I love my Indian and black friends! You’ll see there are many more “OPEN-MINDED” people here than there once was. Come on and check us out!
