Is Dale a bad name??

I like Dale & I think it would be a really cute name.

I like it; a kid in my class at school was called Dale, he spelt it Dayle though. I like the name Dale.

Not bad, just boring. It could be a great middle name!

I think Dale is a good name, but I am just trying to be helpful but if your child grows up to be a bit pudgier and have weight or overeating issues,, there will be mean kids calling him Dale the Whale and other forms of this. I am just trying to help you remember the other factors in finding a name. I don’t find the name redneck at all. I think its sounds trustworthy, and that helps when making huge business deals. :~) Hope this helps!

How about Cale or Cael as an alternative?

i do think it is sort of redneckish –sorry – but the only thing i think of is that race car driver guy who died and then people put his orange stickers on their cars…. im not a fan of it.

I wouldn’t name him Dale. It… just doesn’t sound right.

Its alright. It ages horribly though. I can’t picture the name Dale on a young kid or young adult even all I see is an old grandpa.

I think Dale is a great name, but it happens to be my father’s, brother’s, and nephew’s middle name. It is a little old-fashioned, but I think it is a good strong name.

I think both parents need to love the first name
If you do not love Dale, maybe use it as a middle

I too worry about it’s connection to redneck or car racing….

But I don’t think it’s horrible. And I do think it’s better than Del and Delmar.

I think it does sound like a redneck name. Sorry! That being said, it’s definitely NOT terrible. It’s just not to my liking, but I bet your little Dale would be a cutie and could change people’s perceptions about the name.

It is not a name that I personally like, but I think it’s important that you pick a name that you both love.

I do think of Nascar, and Dale & Dale JR. Racing is not necessarily a redneck sport, but a lot of people DO associate it that way.

You could always honor your husband’s father by using it as a middle name. Or, why not just go with Del instead of Dale!?
