How is it possible for a racist person to….?

On Montel Show there was a racist white man that had a child with a dark skin full black woman.

Sounds like he’s not a racist by heart. Sometimes people get influenced by there surroundings, but they will never be changed on the inside.

Maybe he doesn’t believe in all the hate that was around him growing up….maybe it was more him going along with peer pressure.
Now he’s old enough to become his own man, and can let go of the negativity pushed on him as he grew up.

I say good for him.

No it’s not uncommon. Your friend is in a community of stupid assholes. He’s been brainwashed….they’ve told him all his life that black people suck. All it takes is one pretty face and now he’s deprogrammed.

idk when i was 13 there was this stupid egyptian kid that always made fun of asian ppl but tried to hit on and talk to the asian girls. as racist as someone might be, if a girl is attractive, they’re gonna want her no matter what.

It’s not that crazy of an idea. People can be friends with black people and marry black people but still be racist. Why some white people don’t seem to realize this is beyond me. Many say things like “I’m not racist, I have black friends/dated a black person/have a mixed kid” like that proves anything.

It’s not common but it does happen. I can’t hate women… I think you’d be gay if you didn’t think Alicia keys is hott. This is not interesting, it’s f*cked up.

By all accounts, my Mom would have been considered a racist. She spoke ill of other races and was quick to point out things she didn’t like when she saw them happen in public or on TV, etc.

She also had very dear friends who were not caucasian. Dear, close friends.

When I pointed out to her what I saw as an inconsistency in her beliefs, she made the excuse that her friends ‘of color’ were good people from a race of people that she didn’t like.

I’ll give her this: she was very consistent in that she judged each individual by their own character and not by the color of their skin. She did this all her life. That explains her diverse friendships. Interestingly, she saw no contradiction or in-congruence in her habit of prejudice en masse.

Go figure…

No one is born racist, people with these prejudices get them from their peers, usually parents. You friend has reached an age where he has started to think for himself, so maybe with luck by the time he is an adult he will not be a racist.
