Some of them, sure. I know some personally. But some of them stay in too much trouble.

Define redneck

They are humble, country people. Most are down to earth and love their momma’s.

i’ll tell you why I’m not fond of rednecks (i wouldnt use the term hate…because that would make me sound like a biggot)

I am not fond of rednecks because

1. They are often too proud of their situation and use that as an excuse to be lazy.
2. They often use words like ‘patriotism’ etc but they just hate immigrants. They often dont even like students who come and study in universities in america
3. They are scared of different cultures and languages.
4. They are not very open minded.

Redneck as a slang comes from the slaves of the southern US. They called the poor whites that had to work their own land “Rednecks” because their necks would burn red in the hot Sun.
But now, it is like a badge of some crazy culture icon. I guess you could compare it to a joke that got some respect finally. I like the idea of a redneck/ country or not, who works his way through life and has some fun on the weekend. Seems like that ain’t such a bad plan for poor folks.

I know some that are nice and I know a lot of them that are not accepting of any other cultures but theirs and tend to be extremely ignorant and hateful…I guess it depends on which redneck you are talking about.
