Do Southerners who display Confederate flags support slavery?

No. Someone told me that it doesn’t always represent slavery it just represents the South or something. I can’t remember, but good question, I would like to know the answer.

It has nothing to do with racism.It is just plain old Southern pride.

No..It means heritage..Many southern blacks wave the confederate flag also

when I lived in florida alot of people had those but the ones I met were actually some of the most enlightened people Ive ever met. That bein said It was Florida. I guess its supposed be about heritage not hate. A freind of mine in Greensboro said alot of flagbearers there though are as racist as you can be.

Yeah, living in the South, I do see a lot of Confederate flags in people’s yards and stuff. I don’t think that they are really supporting slavery, necessarily. I think that most of them just think of it as representing the south. I know a guy who has a biracial son, and he also has a Confederate flag in his yard. I think that most of the people with Confederate flags are just apathetic to the fact that it also supports slavery. That’s not what people in the south really think of when they see a Confederate flag.

i am from the south let me tell you. The civil war wasn’t just about slavery. Everyone i know knows that slavery is wrong. we display a confederate flag to show we are proud to be from the south. many good things come from the south, allman brothers being one of them. although when someone says they are from the south lots of northerners ask us what miami is like. that is very degrading because miami might as well be a northern city that’s always hot. so we display our confederate flag to show we aren’t like those jack*asses down in southern fl
