Do many Brits assume all Yanks are rednecks?
If so, why? Is that how we’re depicted in pop culture? A friend of mine from Liverpool once told me Americans are thought of as Texans.

I don’t think so. Some very intelligent people come from America, some not so much, but saying all Yanks are rednecks is really iggnorant.
Yea i kinda think of Americans as Texans. Even when i went there, an awful lot did conform to my generalisation too. but it would be different if i went there for work/study rather than a holiday i think.
