You know, I thought the same thing. The funny thing is, I actually like a few of their songs and I’m a black man. I do remember Ronnie Van Sant’s wife mentioning once that Ronnie was a redneck. I don’t think it makes you a redneck if you like their music. If you walked around with a shirt with the Confederate flag on it and started shouting the N-word to every black person you see, then that’s a whole other story.

rednecks yes…racist no. Why would they be? because they sang sweet home alabama in a backfire to “mr. young” for singing about how racist southern people are. He was singing that song saying that they weren’t racist. JUST REDNECKS. AND REDNECKS HAVE A HELL OF A GOOD TIME
